    Mining Maintenance Management Course

This PowerPoint Course combines my 44-year consulting experiences with 11 textbooks and numerous published trade journal articles. While retirement ended active consulting, this Course was developed to help reinforce a maintenance dedication to providing reliable production equipment.

The Course is designed to be presented on-site by your personnel.  Successful presentation will require a comprehensive review of each lesson, its accompanying slides and recommended instructor dialog.

The Course focus is on what people must do to perform maintenance effectively. Maintenance, by itself, is a service-provider. Its success requires the joint efforts of all mining departments like: Material support and, cooperation from operations.

Maintenance must guide this multi-department support by prescribing how their services are requested, identified, classified, planned, scheduled, assigned, controlled, measured and long-term achievement assessed. Concurrently, the program will apply strategies, along with applicable techniques to achieve effective conduct of maintenance services.

But aside from guiding the conduct of internal maintenance actions, a critical aspect of the maintenance program is confirmation of how other mining departments must support and cooperate with maintenance.

The concurrent, essential role of mine and plant managers is to provide the objectives, policies, and reinforcement of the maintenance program contribution to the total operation effort.

An essential Course intent is to help enable these managers to align all department operating programs with the operations production strategy, creating a mutual-support environment among all departments. Management involvement and direction is essential.

The Course has potential to help guide management application of improvement actions benefitting maintenance and the total operation.
