The maintenance program depicts the interaction of the total plant/mining population as the request or identify work and classify it to determine the best reaction. Then, they plan, schedule, assigned, control and measure the resulting work. Finally they assess overall accomplishments against goals such as performance standards and budgets.
You would be surprised at the number of maintenance organizations who do not have a well written maintenance management program. This needs attention and it is easy to do. Create a group of all maintenance departments and ask each other, what do you expect of me?
I'm reminded of the Scottish proverb: "if you don't know where you going, any road will get you there."
