Women in Tunneling

Traditionally a male-dominated industry, tunneling is slowly beginning to attract more women as engineers, project managers, writers, and more. The number of women working in tunneling has increased in recent years, and we want to maintain the trend.

By gathering, networking, and spreading our message, we hope to bring light to the importance of women in tunneling, and find ways to encourage more women to get involved in this exciting field.

Hampton Roads Bridge and Tunnel Project in Norfolk, Virginia Tunnel Tour

Wednesday, November 6 through Friday, November 8

As spaces will fill up quickly, and travel arrangements, need to be made, please submit application no later than Friday, September 27, 2024. The WIT committee will respond with confirmation of attendance as soon as possible after that date.

Applicants will need to provide their own transportation to Norfolk and hotel costs to attend. Transportation to and from hotel to site will be provided on Thursday 11/7/24. Please let us know in your application if you need a letter from WIT to provide to your manager to encourage them to invest in your participation.
