Hello SME Outreach Resources community group!
Thanks to all of you who have supported BSA's Mining in Society Merit Badge (MISmb) by becoming a counselor, hosting a workshop or providing mine tours at your company.
Wanted to give you all an update on MISmb:
- 3,519 Mining in Society merit badges were earned in 46 states in 2014 (see attached break-down by state)
- SME member Frank McAllister and SME Student Chapter member, Aaron Young attending the World Scout Jamboree in Japan last month to introduce the MISmb to scouts across the world!
- MEC/SME will coordinate booth staff for the July 2017 Boy Scout Jamboree in WV. Set up for this event will begin October 2016.
- Please submit your stories of MISmb support by SME members, sections and student chapters for Mining Engineering magazine.
