Greetings Section Members! Two Items, please read...
1) Please mark your calendars for the October meeting, which will be held in Rolla, MO at Di Trapani's On the Square (400 E. 6th St)... or the old schoolhouse for those of us who remember it before it got a makeover. Thursday October 19th, 6 pm.
The Mining & Explosives Engineering Dept will be hosting the dinner and presenting that evening. Dr. Kwame Awuah-Offei, department chair, will be starting off with an update on the program, and then we will have a technical presentation by Dr. Mariam Al-Lami from the Environmental Engineering Department. Dr. Al-Lami has focused her research on revegetation strategies and rebuilding soil ecosystems on tailings and mined lands.

2) UPDATE on the GOLF TOURNAMENT -- The tournament held on Friday, Oct 6 was a huge success! Thank you to all who sponsored or shared or came out to play and enjoy the fantastic weather in Ste. Gen. We could not do this without all of you!! And a HUGE thanks to our Tournament Chair Joe Hatfield. We raised over $8000 for the section Scholarship Fund, which will go towards 6 scholarships to distribute in November to 6 students. Thank you all!!!!!!
