I am pleased that over 883 members of SME have downloaded the entire seminar, examined, reviewed and downloaded multiple files. Most submitted valuable, meaningful comments. One stands out: "How do we best utilize the Seminar?" Most active mining operations have confirmed and painfully realized that maintenance is not "a stand-alone" activity. Without carefully defined support from warehousing and purchasing or committed cooperation from operations, effective maintenance is impossible. The only one that can make this happen is the mine manager. His goal is an effective Mine Maintenance Management Program (Lesson 05). But that program is seldom achieved unless the Mine Managers Production Strategy has assigned specific objectives to each department and policies prescribing interactions between departments. Advice - Ensure that the mine manager sees the seminar, especially Lessons 03 and 05.
And you will be pleased and rewarded by simply placing the seminar in a digital library, announce its availability and enjoy the results!
Conclusion: The seminar is useless unless the mine manager is aware of it, accepts and uses the advice offered.
