"Recent Successes in Gold Ore Processing With Derrick Screens"
PRESENTER: Andrew Cavendor, Product Application Manager Derrick Corp.
Abstract: Over the last few decades, Derrick Corporation has provided many improved solutions to the status quo equipment utilized in the gold processing industry. These improvements have lead to savings in time, energy, recovery, and headaches when it comes to processing gold.
Biography: Andrew Cavendor grew up with his father (The Hydrogeologist) telling him that Geology was an “expensive hobby” and to go into other, more lucrative, science fields. His response to his father, “Okay Dad, how about a Geological Engineer?” When he moved to Colorado at the age of 7, he was attracted to the challenge and rigors the Colorado School of Mines had to offer. He graduated from the Colorado School of Mines Metallurgy department with a BS and MS. After working 4 years in the solar industry, he gravitated back to working with minerals rather than the sun. Andrew worked at Hazen Research’s Mineral Processing department for several years with ores from all over the world. Now Derrick Corporation utilizes Andrew as an Application Manager for the Western US and Southern Europe. In his off time, Andrew enjoys hiking with his family, brewing (and drinking) beer, and chopping up, what seems like, an endless supply of downed trees in his Western NY backyard.
