Stacy Kramer | VP Corporate Safety & Occupational Health | Freeport‐MaMoRan

2020 Henry Krumb Lecturer

While health and safety (H&S) is often measured by incident rates and reactionary measures, at the end of the day, safety is about the people. It’s about creating relationships and building trust among the workforce. Front line supervisors and health and safety professionals are the core of safe production and have the best opportunity to influence those doing the work. Developing our front-line supervisors and H&S professionals and arming them with the tools to work with the employees in the field creates a culture of trust, respect and collaboration. In this presentation we will review an approach to elevate the role of the front-line supervisor and H&S professionals, and develop tools to keep them in the field and focused on the critical work of driving positive culture change.

Please consider hosting this meeting at your place of employment so that the audience can reach outside of the section. Contact ndmanser@mtu.edu for more details on how to do this, it is easy and no cost.
