The GMG Mineral Processing Working Group has launched a project to develop a series of guidelines focused on geometallurgy and would like to invite SME MPD members to participate in workshops in July to provide expert opinion and advice.
The following is a message from Kaya Harris-Read, Communications and Engagement Coordinator of GMG:
We want to make sure we're working together to combine efforts to build an industry-wide approach to initiatives, and we recognize that the SME mineral and metallurgical processing division represents many experts with knowledge in this field. It would be very much appreciated if you shared information on this project with those who would be interested as we are currently looking for experts to participate.
The project will initiate with workshops this July to prioritize which topics should be addressed first and to build a project group to begin developing the guidelines.

About the event
About the project
This guideline series aims to solve the general confusion within geology, mining, and metallurgical functions of how geometallurgy can be used to add value for greenfield or brownfield project development and within an operating site. They will focus mainly on the generic roadmap covering the lifecycle stages and discussion on how to successfully, profitably, and responsibly execute a project based on that roadmap.
The next step is to narrow down the scope of what each guideline will cover and bring together a project group to collaborate on their development – and we need your input! These workshops, held on two separate dates to accommodate global time zones, will facilitate collaboration between stakeholders on the future of this project.
