The June Meeting – a social without a technical presentation – went well with good turnout and some new faces.  First-time attendees included student interns from Nevada Gold Mines operations, with repeat student attendance from Great Basin College.  We thank the students for their participation.  There were many introductions and much good conversation.

Among ideas brought up were to enhance requests to students and interns to attend meetings.  With the July 10 meeting not yet committed, Nick Atiemo (NOV) suggested the focus be a safety presentation to that audience, as well as fitting for all of us.  Thus, one intent of this letter is to ask firms and individuals to consider that or a variation on the topic.  Anyone readily prepared with a pertinent presentation is encouraged to reply directly to my email address, hopefully by June 27.

Another purpose is to ask firms to forward this letter to their interns and encourage them to attend meetings and network with the participants.  In that regard, this year's current schedule is attached.  Titles have not been received for some of the upcoming meetings.

Have a good run of shifts.

    Respectfully,

    Ralph Sacrison, Chair SME-NENV
