Over the next 4 weeks, NIOSH Partnership's Opioids Workgroup will focus on ways to tailor existing opioid hazard awareness training resources for mine workers. Engaging as many perspectives as possible from the mining community is critical to most effectively understand and address substance misuse and overdose among workers.
If you are interested in sharing your perspectives, please choose ONE of the following four working session dates below:
________________________________________________________________________________________________________
To prepare for the session, you can review the following materials:
- Instructor's manual for Opioid Hazard Awareness for Stone, Sand, and Gravel Miners (attached)
- In addition, or in lieu of the above, you can watch a video of the training here narrated by Cora Roelofs (~ 45 minutes)
Ultimately, your familiarity with these resources will lead to richer workgroup discussions and suggestions to share with MSHA about their tailoring and further developing opioid awareness resources. However, pre-review of materials is not required for participation.
Please direct questions about these session to Carol Nixon, qlp1@cdc.gov
Hope to see you there!
