We are well into the 2024-2025 season.  I apologize for not organizing a meeting yet but I find that I am too busy.  I retired 9 years ago and have realized that with all that I am doing now, I don't know how I ever had time to work.  I have been the Chair of the San Francisco Section, the Sierra Nevada Section and now the Northern California Section.  I have been term limited out many times but there has been no replacement.   The Section had a great meeting at Stanford University and I was hoping that would create more interest from our younger members.

It is time for me to step aside as the Chair of the Section.  Hopefully, by my resignation there will be others who feel as strongly about SME as I do and step forward to be in a leadership role.  We have a great treasurer in Andy Sass and program manager in Chris Johnson so the Section has a strong nucleus.  I will remain active as our by-laws call for the Past Chairman as being on the Executive Committee.  I am looking forward to just being  a member of the Section and participating when I can.

Thank everyone for your help and support in keeping SME in Northern California.

Thank you, Bill, for all your contributions to SME and the section. As I mentioned previously, I would be happy to contribute to the leadership of the section in whatever capacity is needed. Perhaps a virtual meeting should be held to discuss the future of the section. I can put something together if that helps move things along.

    Cheers,
