This committee is a neutral industry leader proactively addressing the practical opportunities and implementation challenges of advanced automation and robotics technologies—such as autonomous mobile equipment, collision avoidance systems, wireless communications, digital sensors, human-machine interfaces, and data analytics— that are increasingly adopted across the mining industry. This committee will serve as a multidisciplinary forum for stakeholders from industry, manufacturing, academia, and regulatory agencies to exchange insights, present research, and discuss the current state and future direction of technology deployment in mining environments. The committee will serve as a platform to host open dialogue, support technical sessions at conferences, and share research to identify health and safety concerns, highlight research and implementation gaps, and promote the development and dissemination of best practices in automation and robotics.
