This is What We Do...
Every fall the SME Tucson Section partners with the mining community to sponsor scholarships to be awarded to students pursing degrees in mining related fields at the University of Arizona and other local accredited programs.
Invest in the Future of Mining
Many of tomorrow's most talented mining professionals get their start right here at the University of Arizona. They need our support now more than ever with the cuts in state spending on education and financial aid in addition to the rising cost of tuition; it all adds up to make college increasingly expensive. Undergraduate tuition alone will increase to almost $10,000 a year for residents and $26,000 a year for non-residents. Once books, room and board, transportation and other necessary expenses are factored in, costs can nearly double.

There are 6 donation packages this year: Mother Lode, Bonanza, Big Nugget, Pay Dirt, Prospect and Supporter.
Description of Benefits
DINNER TICKETS
Your organization will be provided with the corresponding number of complimentary dinner tickets to the October 22nd event.
If we do not receive RSVPs for your organization by Wednesday, October 12th, any dinners not utilized will be donated to students. Please be aware only those dinners actually reserved will be prepared, not the total number of tickets which come with your sponsorship. This is because SME must pay the Savoy Opera House for every meal they serve.
NAMED SCHOLARSHIP
A scholarship awarded in the 2016-2017 school year will be named after the sponsor and will remain in effect from Dec 2016 to Nov 2017.
LOCAL NEWS RELEASE
Sponsor's name and contribution level will be included in a news release to local print media and SME after the October 22nd event.
DINNER MEETING BANNER
Sponsor's logo and contribution level will be printed on a Banner Stand Graphic used at SME Tucson monthly dinner meetings from Dec 2016 to Nov 2017.
SME TUCSON WEBSITE
Sponsor's logo or company name (including link to company website) will be posted on the SME Tucson website.
EVENT SIGNAGE
The sponsor's logo or company name will be included on signage at the October 22nd event.
