SME members and staff are developing the new Mining in Society Merit Badge in conjunction with the Boy Scouts of America which will be officially launched at the SME Annual Meeting, February 23-26, 2014 in Salt Lake City, UT. John Murphy, Chair of the badge’s Advisory Panel and former SME President, was interviewed by Scouting Magazine about the importance of Mining in Society.
