The mineral-rich and once-beautiful area of the world is on fire. Literally Incredible economic growth has increased the demand for energy. But the lethal tactics applied to extract this energy from various coalmines are risking the lives of the region’s inhabitants. CHINA is the country which is most affected by mine-fire.
Protecting surface and underground mining equipment against fire can be challenging. Virtually all of the mobile equipment used in mining operations contain large quantities of highly flammable diesel fuel and lubricating oil. Most important is that an unchecked and uncontrolled equipment fire can pose a serious threat of death or injury.
Various ways of protecting a mine from mine-fire are surface sealing , blind flushing , quenching and excavation of fire with water , inert gas injection etc. Latest device to avoid mine-fire with no damage is known as FireDe Tec.
Coal Fields require immediate attention
, if the mining activities in and around the coal field are to be subtend on a long term basis as the present situation if allowed to continue will bring a market decline in mining and other activities and in next 30 years areas may become deserted.
