VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE 2013 BOY SCOUT JAMBOREE

Opportunity to support SME and Boy Scouts of America!

We need you to staff the SME mining-related Merit Badge exhibit at the July 15-24, 2013 Boy Scout Jamboree at The Summit in Mount Hope, West Virginia. It is expected that 50,000 Scouts, Venturers, volunteers, and staff from all over the United States will participate. The Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration will be promoting the future mining-related Merit Badge and providing activities for the Scouts to learn about the importance of mining and minerals in their everyday life.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Please review the Jamboree website to determine if this is the right experience for you. Also read the Staff Guide for more information. If this is something that you would like to do as an SME volunteer, or have any questions once you have looked at the website, please contact Rachel Grimes, MEC Outreach Coordinator, immediately at 303-948-4247 or grimes@smenet.org. We only have 25 volunteer positions available and space is filling up fast!
