MINING – AN ADVERSITY OR A BOON

Family and wealth, though not antipodes, will not be blessed along. Curious aspirants, after being nudged, desire for top institutes with core disciplines. Remote place, dust, field work, loneliness who in anyway wants to lick the dirt day in and day out? Based on perception, commendable phrases about mining even lags behind minority gender ratio in IITs. Those who get in, either use it as a reference of degree or just for a tag (if in IITs). But eventually when it’s the peak time of recruitment, most starve for atleast a low paid sector to initiate their professional career. Whatever people infer, it is one of the oldest discipline homo sapiens are relied upon and it is said, ‘If mechanical is the father then mining is the mother of all engineering’.
