It is always fun for me to visit the SME offices in Englewood, Colorado and reconnect with staff and hear about the many projects underway that support the industry. On November 7 and 8, I visited with staff and discussed the upcoming Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City in February, SME newest committee on Education Sustainability, our plans for international growth of the society, fundraising efforts of the SME Foundation, and a review of the year-end financial health of SME. I am constantly amazed at the level of customer support that this professional staff of 48 gives to an international membership of over 15,000 individuals in over 100 countries. The breadth and depth of the member educational offerings, technical programming, networking and professional development opportunities is staggering. I am proud to be a member of this society and am honored to work with such a dedicated staff that services this industry.
