AIME Marks Milestone 150th Anniversary
|
On May 16, 2021, leaders from the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers (AIME) member societies of AIST, SME, SPE and TMS celebrated AIME’s 150th anniversary. AIME unveiled a 150th-anniversary plaque in the town center of AIME's birthplace, Wilkes-Barre, PA. Another commemorative plaque at Lehigh University depicting the strong ties between the organizations, especially at the beginning of their legacies, was also installed. This marks the beginning of a year-long celebration that will culminate at MINEXCHANGE 2022. Learn more about AIME’s rich legacy in Mining Engineering.
