Call for Papers! MME Special Issue on Managing Gangue Minerals
Gangue minerals constitute a predominant portion of any ore deposit, and their management is getting more and more complicated along with the increasingly higher complexity and lower grades of orebodies. This results in great pressure on comminution, mineral processing and extractive metallurgy to produce high-quality mineral and metal products efficiently and economically. The special issue of the SME Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (MME) journal aims to disseminate state-of-the-art knowledge on how to deal with gangue minerals in pre-concentration, flotation and hydrometallurgy processes. The deadline for paper submission is May 31, 2020.
MME Special Issue on Miner Health and Safety – Deadline Coming Up Soon!
The mining industry has developed one of the strongest safety cultures of any heavy industry. Virtually all companies promote a safety-first culture, and boards of directors carefully monitor safety performance. Protecting worker health and safety on the jobsite is similarly a priority. While advancing technologies are rapidly improving the mining work environment, there are secondary and tertiary health and safety considerations as well. As the industry, with academia and other partners strives to anticipate and mitigate the unintended consequences of technological change occurring within mines, this Special Issue on Miner Health and Safety of the SME Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (MME) journal is expected to inform stakeholders of the challenges faced and current state of the science. The deadline for paper submission is March 31, 2020, but if you need a deadline extension, send an email to Chee Theng at theng@smenet.org.
Submit your paper to MME at www.editorialmanager.com/mmex/Default.aspx Download submission guidelines from www.springer.com/engineering/journal/42461
