Make Your Voice Heard by Authoring a Paper
If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? If a mining engineer or metallurgist marks a technical breakthrough or accomplishment and no one in the greater community hears about it, does it make a difference in the industry?
Many of us who work in industry know that it takes an effort to carve out the time from day-to-day operations to author a journal paper. Some find the prospect of authoring a technically robust journal paper daunting. The rewards, however, are tangible and lasting, and can be deeply satisfying both on a personal level and to the industry and community to which we all belong. Take a moment to consider your legacy.
