Certified Mine Safety Professional Exam
You can make a commitment to continuing education and constant improvement in your safety and health career by taking the Certified Mine Safety Professional (CMSP) Exam on August 15, 2020, in Denver, CO. The exam is administered by the International Academy of Mine Safety & Health Professionals (IAMSH) of SME. The IAMSH of SME is working toward both U.S. and international third party accreditation to ensure the examination reflects a global safety and health management perspective. The deadline for application to take the exam is July 15.

Mining/Mineral Processing Licensure Review Course
SME will host the P.E. Exam Review Course September 12-16, at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel. Take the next step in your professional career and prepare to earn your P.E. credentials. The review course provides an overall assessment of the subjects that will be covered in the licensure exam in October 2020. This will be an in-person event with appropriate social distancing and personal safety practices. SME will adhere to local government regulations and some instructors may present from a distance. Applicants are encouraged to register early to ensure a spot in the course, as capacity may be determined by social distancing.

Call for Award Nominations The Syd S. and Felicia F. Peng Ground Control in Mining Award
The award provides recognition to individuals or groups who have demonstrated technical and scientific excellence in advancing the understanding of ground control technologies. Nominees can be individuals or groups that have made contributions to ground control related to coal and/or non-coal (metals, commodities, etc.) or aggregate mines. Need help with the nomination?
