Use Your Downtime to Submit Your Preprint Manuscript to the MME Journal

By Chee Theng posted 03-20-2020 05:33 PM

Are you having to work remote for the next few weeks?
Are you wondering how to submit your preprint manuscript to the SME MME journal?

If you presented at an SME conference and have a preprint manuscript, we welcome the submission of your preprint manuscript to the SME Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (MME) journal. All submitted preprint manuscripts will go through peer review by the MME Editorial Board, and if accepted, your manuscript will be published in the MME journal.

Below are instructions on how to submit your preprint manuscript to the journal:

PAPERS REQUESTING A PEER REVIEW
If you wish to submit your SME preprint manuscript for peer review in SME's Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration journal, you may do so! Go to https://link.springer.com/journal/42461/volumes-and-issues and click on the blue "Submit manuscript" button. Indicate in the Author Comments box that the submission is an SME preprint manuscript. If accepted, your manuscript will be published in the MME journal.
Email Chee Theng at theng@smenet.org if you have any questions or need any help!

To increase the chances of your manuscript being accepted for publication, consider MME's aims and scope, which are to publish high-quality original research publications, in-depth special review articles, reviews of state-of-the-art and innovative technologies and industry methodologies, communications of work of topical and emerging interest, and other works that enhance understanding on both the fundamental and practical levels.

WHY SUBMIT TO MME?
  • Online First publication in 16-21 days of acceptance.
  • No charge for publication.
  • No restrictions on number of pages/figures.
  • Free electronic access by all SME members.
  • Extended abstract published in Mining Engineering.
  • Link to share freely with colleagues, friends and associates for reading, citation and awareness.
  • Expanded reach to up to 7,000 libraries and institutions and 20 million desktops worldwide through SpringerLink.
  • Journal impact factor and coverage in Clarivate Analytics' Web of Science.

Anybody interested in publishing a paper on the MME journal and has no previous experience with LaTeX (for writing mathematical formulas), there is a good website to start: overleaf.com.
I personally recommend using LaTeX instead of Word equation editor, because it handles nested equations, in-line math expressions, and variable size of mathematical operators.
