Engineering and Construction Considerations for the Direct Pipe® Method

Robert Hotz will present on the Direct Pipe® method for the design and construction of buried pipelines. The presentation will provide an introduction to trenchless technologies as well as an overview of both engineering design and construction execution of Direct Pipe® projects. Major components will include the installation process overview, safety considerations, major construction equipment selection, benefits and limitations of the technology, and additional key elements of design and construction. The presentation will close with the discussion of case studies highlighting recently completed Direct Pipe® Projects in the Gulf Coast Region.

Robert Hotz serves as Laney’s Division Manager of Utility Crossings and has extensive experience in the trenchless industry in both pipeline engineering and construction management. Rob is a licensed Professional Engineer and holds a Master’s of Science degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the Missouri Institute of Science and Technology.
