2015 STEM Summit

When:  Apr 20, 2015
Associated with  Pittsburgh SME Section

Bridging the gap between education, innovation, and industry-led solutions!  Join educational and business colleagues for "STEM 2 Work." Discover successful examples of school and community partnerships with businesses, universities, and non-profits.

Hear Ignite Talks. Talk with Community Partners. Interact with peers at panel discussions.

In the spirit of TED conferences, the STEM Summit will feature 10 Ignite Talk presentations, each lasting no more than 10 minutes, to provide as much information as possible to conference attendees.

This year’s STEM Summit is using the recently published report entitled, “Work to Do: The Role of STEM Education in Improving the Tri-State Region’s Workforce,” as its guide for speakers and content.  Afternoon panel discussions will expand upon the topics mentioned in this report funded by Chevron with support from NOVA Chemicals.

Furthermore, this event is designed to allow educators, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and innovators of all types to come together and learn about real solutions to enhance teacher professional development, encourage student engagement, and provide learning opportunities in traditional and non-traditional environments.
