SME partnered with Boy Scouts of America (BSA) and successfully launched the Mining in Society Merit Badge in 2014. We need help continuing to educate Scouts and creating interest in the mining sector and related industries. In July 2017 the Summit Bechtel Reserve in Jean, West Virginia is hosting 50,000+ scouts and leaders from around the world and SME is participating with a Mining in Society merit badge booth. The Jamboree happens every four years, so it is a huge event. We need help in two areas: volunteers and financial donations.
To successfully participate in this amazing event, $40,000 is needed to cover costs. Any donation amount is greatly appreciated and can be given by the following ways:
