    Please make plans to come out and see Mr. John L.     Talc Deposits in North Georgia

     

    Recent core drilling in northwest Georgia's Murray County drilled through the Pre-Cambrian meta-sedimentary and meta-igneous rocks into the Conasauga shales of lower Cambrian age.  General geology and short description of mines and prospect in the Chatsworth District. Mining, milling and processing along with uses of talc.

     

    John L. Hinton

     

    Mining consultant with 40 years of on-site experience versed in all aspects of surface mining and underground mining operations, mineral processing and marketing.  Long range to end-of-life mine planning followed by detailed short range and day-to-day planning.

    1975 to 1987.    Geologist and Mining Engineer.

    Technical support to Georgia Marble divisions (Calcium Carbonate and crushed aggregate) and Jim Walter companies.

    NEW MEETING LOCATION – Rock Eagle 4-H Center – Founders Lodge

     

    From Atlanta Take 1-20 East to Exit 114 (Madison). Turn right onto Highway 441 South. Follow Highway 441 South (12 Miles) to Rock Eagle 4-H Center (on the right).  Turn right, then turn at the second right in approximately one mile and Founders Lodge will be on your right.  Parking is in the rear. 

     

    From Macon Take US 129 North to Eatonton to Intersection with US 441 and go left, continue North on 129/441.  Rock Eagle is approximately 10 miles north on the left.  Turn left, then turn at the second right in approximately one mile and Founders Lodge will be on your right.  Parking is in the rear.  

     

    From downtown Milledgeville go north on Columbia St.  Take US 441 North from downtown for approximately 28 miles and look to your left for Rock Eagle. Turn left, then turn at the second right in approximately one mile and Founders Lodge will be on your right.  Parking is in the rear.
