The Nantahala Quarry is an active limestone quarry located in the beautiful Nantahala Gorge in Swain County, NC. The quarry has beenmined continuously from the time it first opened in 1890. From 1895 until 1925 it was mined mainly for talc. For years this site has beenfrequented by Rockhounds for its spectacular specimens of bright pink, purple, and yellow banded marble, as well as very nicegreen translucent soapstone, aragonite, flowstone, calcite, etc.

Important Remarks:
Registration is open to all professionals, students and their relatives and being a SME member is not required. However, every person who attends the meeting (other than the UNCA students who only participate in the technical program) should be registered.
Providing the email address is mandatory because all the communications with the attendees regarding program announcements will be done through email.
The registration fee covers reception, attending the technical program, and dinner. Each attendee is responsible for the fee associated with the Asheville brewery tour which will directly be collected by the tour operators at the time of service.
If you need transportation to Nantahala for the field trip, please make sure that you select the right option in the “Registration Fee” section of the registration form.

If you register for more than one person, one filled registration form per attendee is needed. However, the registration fees may be added up in a single check.
