Colorado Section SME meeting with be held at the Wynkoop Brewing Company 1634 18th St, Denver on October 19th beginning at 11:30am with lunch at noon. Lawrence Clark will be speaking from 12:30pm to 1:00pm on “Building the Business: From Concept to Commercialization”. Today’s mining industry needs technology to stay competitive. But to be successful these technologies must deliver value over a sustained period which requires a successful company behind the technology. This talk will cover some important aspects of building the business that, while not technically complex, escape some entrepreneurs.

Mr. Clark is a mining engineer with nearly four decades of practical experience, starting as a underground miner at the Henderson Mine in 1978.  Mr. Clark worked for Newmont Mining for 17 years running the Mining Technology group and his career has spanned mine operations, construction, consulting, technical sales, and private equity. Mr. Clark now owns Clark Mining Technologies, LLC and devotes his time investing in mining technology companies through Jolimont Global Mining Systems.
