On Dec.16th, 2014, in coordination with Engine Zone (SME representative in Peru), Rosa M. Rojas and Jose Quispe gave a talk to the SME student chapters:

Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru, Universidad Nacional del Altiplano and Universidad de Ingenieria.

The topics were related to:

- Young Leaders Committee vision and structure.
- Opportunities with the Student Chapters Ambassador Program in Peru.
- Opportunities for Professional Development within Young Leaders Committee internationally.
- The learning transition from being student to the professional life.
- Mentoring and working with the unknowns.
- Professional experiences in mining.
- Student chapters mentioned their work so far and future plans to grow.

This meeting established a baseline for future work with the chapters in Peru.
The talk was closed out by Romulo Mucho, SME Peru Section President.

We were all very excited about it. The chapters are currently very active in local activities, we talked about annual reports, ways to generate income for the chapters, mentoring in Peru and abroad, etc. There are a lot of projects coming along for them that we could support from U.S.
