By Andrew Schissler posted 11-21-2014 04:20 PM

The SME PE Committee have launched and sent a survey to 7,523 Engineers worldwide asking them to complete questions relating to their professional activities and knowledge they utilize. This survey occurs as an integral and required part of a 7-year cyclic review of the Professional Engineers Examination for Mining / Mineral Processing. This exam is given once a year in October. Last month’s Mining / Mineral Processing PE examination had a 20-year record high preliminary count of 95 test-takers.

SME respectfully requests you take the brief survey on-line when you receive it via email or US Mail. At the end of the survey, you will have an opportunity to submit your name for a drawing, winner to be announced at the SME Annual Meeting 2015.

The National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying and the individual states require that the licensure examinations for professional engineers be reviewed and updated every 7 years. The survey will insure that the Mining/Mineral Processing Exam continues to contain questions that are pertinent for current practice as a professional engineer in the Mining and Mineral processing disciplines, which also include Environmental Engineering.

The SME PE Committee of 42 PE’s, Mr. Michael Schlumpberger PE, 2014 Chair; Dr. Rahul Bhaduri PE, 2015 Chair-Elect; and Dr. Andrew Schissler PE, SME PE Exam Coordinator thank you for your time and consideration.
